Date - Wednesday 11 December
Time - Mass start at 18:30, courses close 20:00.
Venue – Mine Woods & Bridge of Allan. Parking is at the top of Ferniebank Brae / Sunnylaw Road (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Bridge+of+Allanfirstname.lastname@example.org,-3.9499148,17z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x488888109bf4c89b:0xc132d27e7dbe8194!8m2!3d56.153149!4d-3.942208)
Map - 1:5,000. Pre-printed on waterproof paper.
Courses - Long (4.3km) and Short (2.5km) with lots of Gaffling. All courses to TD5 standard.
Entry - Email the organiser by 10pm on Monday 25th November. Include your SI number and say whether you want to run the long or short course. NO CONTACT = NO MAP!
Cost - BOF/SOA members Adults £4 / Juniors/students £3. Non-members £6/£4.
Under 16s – As the courses cross public roads, all juniors under the age of 16 on the day of the event must be accompanied by an adult at all times and be supervised at any road crossings.
Timing - SportIDENT and reflective canes.
Safety - spare torch and whistle are mandatory, and wearing/carrying hooded waterproof jacket is mandatory if deemed necessary by the organiser.
Hazards - There are some very high cliffs in Mine Woods. Courses have been planned to avoid them, however be careful at all times. Participants may also encounter mountain bikers, other members of the public, steep slopes and undergrowth. Courses also cross a number of minor roads.
Participants take part at their own risk!
Note - Car parks are often close to houses and are often used by others, so please park considerately and change discreetly.
Post event food - I have booked a table at Corrieri's, Causewayhead, for 8pm. Please let me know if you would like to eat there after the event, so I can give them an estimate of numbers.
