Last weekend seven FVO members replaced running in the forest for the road to compete in the Alloa Half Marathon.
Ross McLennan was the star on the day taking 15th place in a time of 1:17:04. Although not a PB it was a most respectable time given his recent return to training following a break for house renovations. Jon Cross however did manage a PB with a time of 1:23:28, running faster now than he did in his 20's and 30's! Jason Inman and Louise Longhurst can also claim PBs, having never done a Half Marathon before - Jason in a time of 1:31:10 and Louise in 1:56:17. Our new President Roger Goddard ran strongly, despite a sore achilles, to come in just ahead of the first lady in 1:20:15. Hazel Dean was the winner of the race to be the first FVO Lady in a time of 1:32:34 followed by Lisa Brown, looking very comfortable in 1:48:49.
Well done to all...
Thanks to Will and Gary for the photos...
