So....four great days of orienteering at the JK this weekend are over - and with a range of impressive results from so many different FVO people, not to mention the great organisational effort on Saturday for which many thanks are due to David Nicol as day organiser. And as if that was not enough, FVO also provided the Controllers for all the individual days (Ted Finch, Gareth Bryan-Jones and Brian Bullen), as well as Colin Matheson's key role in the overall event co-ordination.

Well done everyone for a fantastic effort all round! Particular congratulations are of course due to our winners and medallists from the weekend - some of them coming away with prizes from all of Sprint, Individual, and Relay (does anyone really need three JK buffs??). And those congratulations go to:

  • WINNERS - Juniors (Grace Molloy, Ben Parkinson, Clare Stansfield)
  • BRONZE - Men Vets (Roger Goddard, Martin Dean, Jason Inman)
  • BRONZE - Men's Short Open (Steve Feltbower, Daniel Stansfield, Jon Marsden)

  • SILVER M55L Martin Dean
  • BRONZE M21E Mark Nixon (second on the middle distance on Sat, third on Sunday)
  • BRONZE M10A Pete Molloy

We also had our share of podium finishes on the other courses, with 3rd for Ellen Patton on W10B, 2nd for Beccy Osborn on W40S and Lucile Macleod on W70S, and 3rd for Chris Wood on W65S.

Sprint

  • WINNER M20E Jamie Stevenson

That is a lot of top quality orienteering by a lot of people! Congratulations again - looking forward to more of the same at the British and Scottish Championships over the next few weeks!
