On Sunday 12 October, FVO is hosting a fantastic, exciting, high profile, international orienteering race based from Stirling Old Town.

It is time to enter the event! Entries for the entire Race The Castles festival are here.

The existing Stirling map has been upgraded and extended - and most notably now covers the inside of Stirling Castle!

This race is part of the overall Race The Castles international orienteering festival with races at Edinburgh/Stirling on the first weekend and on Royal Deeside for the second weekend (including on Balmoral estate). Race The Castles is part of Homecoming Scotland 2014, and you can see more information at www.racethecastles.com, including details on the individual events and venues.

At the Stirling day, for the elite there will be sprint distance races which are World Ranking Events and part of the Park World Tour, and for everyone else there are full length urban races as part of the primary UK urban series, the Nopesport Urban League. The Stirling races are also the penultimate round of this year’s UK Orienteering League.

The top elites are keen to come and run in Scotland ahead of next year's World Championships, and we have a strong international elite field lined up for Race The Castles. For the Stirling race this already includes a number of the medallists from this year's World Championships - so this is your chance to see the world's leading orienteers in action on FVO's home turf.
