The friend of FVO award is made to a non-club member , individual or organisation who have gone out of their way to support FVO during the previous year.

2016 - Kate Thomas (CLYDE) for her support of the 2016 Junior European Cup as organiser of the long distance race. The great success of the weekend as a whole was guaranteed by the fantastic organisation of the final day led by Kate

2017 - Andy Llewellyn (NOC) for planning the Scottish Orienteering League fixture at the Trossachs , being very pro-active about this and coping without a controller until very late on.

2018 - Robin & Sheila Strain (ELO) for years of service on results at events around Scotland.

2019 - Rob Hickling (BASOC) for controlling the Scottish Middle Championships, BUCS Individual and Relay Championships and Scottish Orienteering League fixture at Dumyat.

2020 - not awarded.

2021 - Coni Muller (OLV Zug) for volunteer coaching input during her sabbatical from her club in Switzerland across a range of client groups.

2022 - Wendy Carlyle (AIRE) for photographic services to British orienteering.
