FVO's Marcus Pinker turned in strong performances on both Saturday and Sunday at the Irish Orienteering Championships held in Carlingford Mountain. On an open morrland area with very complex rock detail, Marcus put in a very strong performance on Sunday to win the long distance event of 13.4km in just over 100 minutes - 4 minutes clear of Neil Dobbs in second place. On the Saturday in the middle distance event, Marcus was just shaded into second place by just 8 seconds - but had the honour of being the first Irishman home. Full results here
