This weekend past saw the British Long Distance and Relay Championships being staged in the Lake District. Saturday’s Individual race was at Dalegarth and Sunday’s Relay at Helsington Barrows near Kendal.

FVO produced three British Champions:

Lizzie Stansfield W10 Hazel Dean W45 Martin Dean M50

FVO had nine Relay teams, four of which won their class:

M40 Martin Dean/Jason Inman/Ben Stansfield M60 Ted Finch/Dave Coustick/Brian Bullen W14 Grace Molloy/Eloise Lardet/Clare Stansfield W40 Jen Leonard/Rona Molloy/Hazel Dean

And our Mini-relay team of Peter Molloy/Pierre Lardet/Lizzie Stansfield was second

On the bank holiday Monday there was an urban race in Kendal and again we had some winners; Daniel & Lizzie Stansfield continued the Stansfield family winning streak and Martin & Hazel Dean completed their hat trick of wins. Jason Inman took third place.
