A message from our Club Captain..........
Great day today - despite the weather!
At Teviothead south of Hawick, FVO's fantastic team fought their way round their courses in pouring rain and outrageous winds, and brought home some great results which saw us retain the Compass Sport Trophy. Again.
It was a close run thing this year against a strong determined challenge from Interlopers, but after a recount FVO took the title by the slender margin of 9 points, by 1265 to 1256.
We had no fewer than FIVE course winners scoring 100 points - congratulations to Jamie Stevenson, Hazel Dean, Gareth Bryan-Jones, Frances Brown and Grace Molloy. They were backed up a posse of people all over 90 points to complete the scoring thirteen runners - Mark Nixon, Roger Goddard, Marcus Pinker, Martin Dean, Fiona Berrow, Louise Longhurst, Val Finch and Clare Stansfield. Full results are available here
The runs from the rest of the team were very important too - and it was great to see everyone supporting one another despite the foul weather.
And I was pleased to see that as soon as it was clear that we had won (our sixth win in a row by the way!), the clouds moved away and the sun came out!
So congratulations and thank you everyone - well deserved!
